I'm new to the photography world, but I really have a great setup. I shoot with both the Nikon D300 with 9 great lenses:
Nikkor Micro AF-S 105 mm f/2.8 VR
Nikkor AF-S 12-24 mm f/4
Nikkor AF-S 14-24 mm f/2.8
Nikkor AF-S 50 mm f/1.4
Nikkor AF-D 50 mm f/1.8
Nikkor AF-S 18-105 mm VR
Nikkor AF-S 35 mm f/1.8
Sigma 18-200 mm HSM OS
Sigma 150-500 mm HSM OS
I use a tripod and the remote whenever I can. I have no formal training and have only really been shooting since January 2009. I think I'm off to a good start, but I'd like some coaching from those who are willing to share their experience with me.
I want to get good enough to compete in photo contests. I don't necessarily want to be a career professional, but I do want to be a serious amateur. My ultimate goal is to get my pics published in National Geographic one day. That would be a great honor for me.
I enjoy shooting natural subjects, such as animals, plants, landscapes, water, and natural light. I'm not too excited about people, unless they are part of the natural scene.
Thanks for visiting my site and please feel free to comment on my pics, give me pointers, or suggest lenses or other equipment that might help me in my quest. Constructive criticism is appreciated!
